Haze Situation Update (20 October 2026)

Singapore, 20 October 2026 – The PSI forecast for 21 Oct 2026 is 110 – 180 (Unhealthy).

2    The PSI forecast and corresponding health advisories should be used for planning next day outdoor activities.

3    For immediate outdoor activities, please check the 1-hr PM2.5 concentration readings and personal guide on our haze microsite (www.haze.gov.sg) or mobile app (myENV).

Update on Hotspot and Haze Situation

4    Showers were observed over a few areas of Singapore this afternoon. As at 7pm, the 1-hr PM2.5 concentration readings were 30 – 79 µg/m3, in (Band 1, Normal / Band 2, Elevated), and the 24-hr PSI was 85 – 140, in the Moderate to Unhealthy range. While there were also showers in the surrounding areas, residual smoke haze from Kalimantan was observed to drift towards Singapore. Smoke haze was also observed in Sumatra.

5    For tomorrow, some showers are expected over Singapore and the surrounding region. However, smoke haze from fires in Kalimantan may be transported towards Singapore as the winds are expected to blow from the east-southeast to southeast.

6    Dry conditions are likely to persist over the southern parts of Kalimantan over the next few days. Under prevailing east-southeasterly to southeasterly winds, smoke haze may drift from fires in Kalimantan towards Singapore.

Activity Guidelines

7    The health impact of haze is dependent on one’s health status, the PSI level, and the length and intensity of outdoor activity.

8    For updates, visit our haze microsite (www.haze.gov.sg), the NEA website (www.nea.gov.sg), MSS website (www.weather.gov.sg), mobile app (myENV) or follow us on NEA Facebook (www.facebook.com/NEASingapore). For information on the distribution of hotspots detected over the past fortnight in the region, please refer to the ASEAN Specialised Meteorological Centre (ASMC) website at http://asmc.asean.org.

Areas with lighter smoke haze are not indicated as they cannot be clearly discerned from satellite imagery. The full extent of the hotspot and smoke haze situation could not be determined due to extensive cloud cover.
